The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC yesterday, increased Nigeria's petroleum product storage capacity by 87.70 million litres, with the re-commissioning of four product tanks at the Mosimi depot in Ogun State. The NNPC, in a statement in Abuja, said the re-commissioning of the storage tanks was part of efforts aimed at maintaining seamless supply and distribution of petroleum product across the country.
Speaking during the re-commissioning of the facilities, Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mr. Maikanti Baru, explained that the rehabilitated tanks' combined capacity represent 54 per cent of the total storage capacity for Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, otherwise Known as petrol at Mosimi depot.
he said: " The new gauging and metering technology adopted at the facility would help reduce waste and stop leakages in the operations of the depot.
