Jibrin Shot Himself On The Leg - Amaechi

Nwoha Amaechi, a former speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, on Thursday, september 29, said the suspension of abdulmumin jibrin by the House of Representatives, was well deserved. Amaechi described jibrin's suspension as a "warning for those lacking proper discipline."
According to him, Jibrin violated the standing rule of the lower chamber of the National Assembly by his actions.
Amaechi said: "Publicly levelling unfounded allegations against his fellow members in spite of the party's intervention is unethical of a lawmaker.

"He went too far in his actions. He went to the press first to make allegations, exposing the House's internal matters to the Press. He deserved to be suspended."
While condemning corruption in its entirety, Amaechi called on all stakeholders to restore the image of the country by shunning corruption. However, he expressed confidence in the standing rule of the National Assembly, saying it was impartial.
He said:"If Jibrin had, at the beginning and before the signing of the budget, reported foul play by even bringing the matter to the attention of security agents, he would have been vindicated; but he didn't.
"his action was like an afterthought; he created room for suspicion; in fact, he shot hi,self on the leg."
